We’re gonna give you a new name tonight

If you drove up here in a Little Red Corvette, you might be surprised at what you gonna get

Alright. I can’t get around Roskilde festival without mentioning the purple prince. I sure hope to see him in great shape. 70.000 people singing along with his never dying classics sunday night seems like a really fine way to end the festival. Here’s a taste from his brilliant first live album “One Night Alone!” – Please let us get a glimpse of that on Sunday.

Bjerringbro by night (Roskilde Festival)

Copyright: Gaffa / Sofie Amalie Klogart

I can’t wait for this day to end. Tomorrow around noon, I will be sitting in a train towards Roskilde. With the weather being absolutely perfect, friends already camping and enjoying cold drinks in the sun, and a sea of great concerts coming up, I think that it’s safe to say that this weekend will be amazing. This year, I really haven’t had the time to look closer at the music plan. Nevertheless, I quickly found some artist I will be seeing!

Der er næppe noget der swinger
som Bjerringbro by night
hele hovedgaden emmer
af landmænd fit for fight

The danish classic will be awesome.

Time for icecream

copyright frisko

The weather is almost there, but the branding behind my favorite ice cream, is sooo not there. In 1998 Frisko is dumped the old sun as logo. Instead they implemented an ugly and cheesy ‘ice cream heart’. I think that their visual identity is getting more and more corny.

If you ask me, icecream is not about exclusive golden boxes (as they wrap the ice in now a days) – in fact, I almost find that disgusting. It seems like they have no interest in CSR-policy. For me it’s about nature, countryside, pure materials and idyll. Go vintage! The image above is from Friskos first poster from 1972. I love it. Oh, and I love the prices.

Copenhagen X – Sleep Party People

I wish I had found this website some time earlier, but I figured it is a good way to warm up for Roskilde anyway. A collaboration between Sony and Roskilde Festival called Copenhagen X, arranged 18 sessions with 18 bands as a tribute to “live music”, giving a total of 70 tracks for free on their website. Check out the website. There is tons of great music experiences awaiting.

Wow. I have never heard about Sleep Party People before this. The arrangement, the beautiful music, the mood. It’s absolutely magnificent. It’s definitely on my “must see on Roskilde festival”-list. They are on for warm-up on 29th 15.00 at Pavilion Junior.

The lead singer in I Got You On Tape Jacob Bellens is so amazing. I love the sound of this band. Mmmh. Unfortunately, they are not performing at Roskilde this year. (Give it a minute to get in the right mood)

Sharing made fun

I don’t think I have ever seen a more romantic plate. It’s made by the french designer Stéphanie Marin, in association with chef Mauro Colagreco. I would love to sit with a bottle of blanc wine, and this tree of strawberries sharing it with someone close.

Gudmindrup beach

This weekend I spent at the new family summerhouse in Højby. Mixed weather gave me bad colors, so I stole them from the photos. Ha! Do not worry, I will bombard you guys with snaps from our new idyllic place. Natural ground, deers, buzzards and hares literally just outside the window of this lovely house. Can not wait to spend summer days here.

The revenge of the spectacle monkeys

So, It turns out, that I am Myopia (or nearsighted), and therefore I am looking for glasses. Though one. I stumbled upon a series of pretty cool ads from belgian Oogmerk opticians. Although I can not personify myself in any of the characters depicted, I still think it is great fun, and it does show how much a pair of glasses do to a person. For many years glasses had more negative than positive associations. This campaign tells us, that glasses are cool. I am going to be cool. What does an infographic design student look like with glasses?

Slaraffenklang – a free album on a rainy Monday

Kenneth NguyenPhoto by Kenneth Nguyen.

I can not believe I missed this! I have been listening to Efterklang for a while, and I have become a big fan. Apparently they played in Pumpehuset with Slaraffenland a while ago. I read about the concert at a relatively new, but awesome blog called The Bistro. You should definitely give it a try, great food and splendid service – Do not worry about you not having the time, it is open for you 24 hours a day.
Also, check out the man behind the post: Photographer Kenneth Nguyen. He took some great photos at the concert, and has an awesome portfolio, recently updated with photos from the Distortion festival in Copenhagen.

Here is a tasty bite from the concert:
