Sweet disposition

Right click for fullscreen

Hi. Just a quick pop-share. Not because the video is that great, but simply because I like the song. The video seems a bit stupid though, not very creative but mostly a waste of money and somewhat without creative thinking. Seems like just an excuse of using slow-motion. Anyway! – I could watch the guy getting drumsticks shot at for hours. Maybe it’s just me. Temper Trap: Sweet Disposition. G’night.

JR “Women Are Heroes” in Paris

FUBIZ.NET

FUBIZ.NET

It is not very often I come across art that gives me chills. This did. The 6 minutes long video summarizes the exhibition in Paris at “Ile Saint Louis” by the Parisian photographer JR. The piece, dedicated to women in poor countries entitled “Women Are Heroes”, was a project which featured portraits of 70 women taken around the world. I really like how JR’s work (assumably) became the talk of town in Paris. For good and for bad. I like the way he let the pieces fall apart before removing it. The man in the café summed it up nicely: “Oh Yes. I liked it! It changed my daily trip to work, there was a new setting!” Absolutely magnificent.

“JR owns the biggest art gallery in the world – He exhibits freely in the streets of the world.”

Festival of colors

Copyright Boston Big Picture

A couple of weeks ago Holli, also called the Festival of Colors, where held in India. It’s a spring festival celebrated by Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs and others. They are making huge bondfires and trowing colors at each other, and It is absolutely beautiful in pictures! Every year I wait for Boston Picture to update their BIG PICTURE. I just love the colors and white smiles on the large pictures. I have shared those I think was best, and also a couple from my two best friends travel in India back in 2006. Enjoy!

“The Motherfucking Gaslamp Killer”

- Unorthodox mixture of vintage soul, bassy dubstep, soulful blues, psychedelic and abstract hip hop.

I just read an article about the DJ “The Gaslamp Killer” in Politiken. Apparently, he is playing at Stubnitz in Copenhagen tonight. I read some articles about the dude, and listened to him at grooveshark, and I got psyched about it. His sound is so cool! I think you will se me head banging with him around midnight. Check him out!

Posters en masse

Yesterday, my boss, a colleague and I went on a small trip to the Danish Museum of Art & Design in Bredgade, Copenhagen. We went to see the exhibition: “Images of the world: The Global Poster” to get some inspiration. The exhibition consisted of more than 300 poster, a lot of them beautiful and in many varying styles. I would have preferred to see the posters in chronological order, instead of themes, but still I would definitely recommend people in the area to go and see it. The beautiful poster above was my favorite from the exhibition: It is designed by Japanse designer Yusaku Kamekura (1915–1997) in 1983 and called “Hiroshima Appeals”.

There is no entrance fee and it is open until 5th april.

AntiVJ with fantastic VJ skills

For the occasion of a festival called MUTEK_10, a ships tower by the name: Conveyors, became the object of AntiVJ’s attentions, as they brought the structure back to life with crazy cool projections. I have seen so many attempts of VJ projections, but never such a magnificent work like this. I love the ending! The men behind is Olivier Ratsi and Joanie Lemercier. Check out AnitVJ’s website for more great works.

Cute dogs and slow treats is viral gold

Pedigree released this viral video last month, with dogs in slow-motion catching treats. What could be better? I am crazy about it, and I felt like eating one myself. Maybe other people felt the same way, because over 2 million already seen it on YouTube. It is a great example of how simple and great viral marketing is.

23-year-old Alexa Meade creating “Body paintings”

Alexa Meade is a 23-year-old mixed media artist based in the Washington. I came across her beautiful “body paintings” while browsing todayandtommorow.net, and I think they are magnificent. I am especially crazy about the ones where the artwork is half photo and half acrylic. For me it feels like it is an old painting coming to life. Beautiful, but at the same time a bit creepy. Alexa decripes her tecnique like this:

“My painting technique pushes the boundaries of perception, compressing 3D space into a 2D plane, effectively blurring the lines between art and life. The living paintings series is my spin on reality. By wrapping my subject in a mask of paint, I skew the way that the core of the subject is perceived.”

Interactive video at it’s best

Wrangler

I was going through my blog roll and came across the Flash gurus Konstellation’s blog. If your interested in the newest in the Flash world, follow these guys on their web and blog. A couple of days ago they posted about the new Wrangler Blue Bell website. I was blown away. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a cool fashion website or such a great way of using interactive video. The clothes are pretty awesome as well! Do yourself a favor and check it out.

The “Bal des Ardents”

Photographer: Sonny Singh - http://www.sonnysingh.dk

Saturday I attended a crazy fun party at a friend of mine. She held a Masqurade party which is always big fun. Some wore beautiful masks, hilarious, and some creative fun masks. I came with a splendid classical mask which I borrowed from a friend. All in all a great photo opportunity, and I just wanted to share some of the snaps with you, because I think they are pretty awesome. For those who attended the party or others who might like them, they are available for download here. (link expires 1/6-2010)

Young Creative Circle Awards

A couple of weeks ago, my brother and I competed in the annual YCCA for our first time. Since either of us are working with posters design or advertising, we did not expect to win, just to have fun. And it was fun indeed. After 24 hours we sent the poster above as our contribution. A lot of liquid and junk where consumed, and we had many great laughs and fun ideas during the night. You can read the brief here. It’s cool to see so different and brilliant ideas, talented people I must say.

Plastic Beach

gorillaz

After a couple of years Damon Albarn’s sideproject Gorillaz are back with his third album: Plastic Beach. I have been listening to the album at NRP the last couple of weeks, and I must say.. It’s fantastic. Their musical playground seems to have no limits. I am especially crazy about the bit funky “Some Kind Of Nature” and also “Empire Ants”. I can see those tracks become big hits. On the negative side, I think Snoop Dogg seems a bit doll on the album.
Listen to the album for free while you still can at: NRP. I just realized that the album is no longer available for live streaming, so I’ve posted some of my favorite songs, and you will have to buy the album yourself. Sorry, I’m the slowest blogger in the universe.
